Tips for aspiring wedding photographers

One of the biggest jobs any photographer can get is as a wedding photographer. And photography is one of the most popular hobbies for people to undertake. Not all people who learn photography do it for money.  For those amateur hobby photographers taking wedding photos is exciting. So if you’ve a friend getting married you can surprise them with some shots that may besuperior than the hired photographer. So here are some ways to do that.

These are some tips for an amateur photographer but they’re some tips I have gained doing San Diego wedding photographer work.  So if you are a professional they could help as well too.Because as mentioned earlier in the article, doing wedding shoots is one of the most satisfying things that can happen to a photographer.

So the first thing you want to do is be in the moment.  What do I mean by that?  Well everyone knows what happens at a wedding. There are events that are palnned. But a lot of emotions are being displayed even if the events are planned.  Since you’ve been to many wedding be ready for those moments.  Those will be some of the best shots of the whole wedding.  In my portfolio as a San Diego photographer you can see that to be the case.

Another tip is to realize the wedding is a fluid event. So don’t focus on taking still shots.Capturing the movements of the people in the wedding would result to some of your best photos. It will be hard to do but it is doable.  Of course I had to hone my skills doing San Diego event photography to be able to do this. But once you get the hang of taking shots that are not still shots you would startto love it.  You will be able to outshoot the hired photographer. It would be great to achieve since you are still an amateur. And you can also share your great pics with your friends.Plus, who knows, it might just be the startof your business.
