Sit Back and Remember
Why is it, that at holiday time and other events someone is always ill? Is it part of a master plan? I have been ruminating and reminiscing Todayand it became clear that every family function I have ever been to had at least one of my family members suffering with the sniffles.
I was age eight. It was nearly Christmas time, and I was very ill with my appendix. Is it just an ordinary coincidence? Or is there an ominous evil out there that gets its jollies seeing us suffer in times that should be happy?. We should catch that dirty devil and inform him we’re NOT impressed by his actions.
As they state — timing is everything. There comes a time in everyone’s life, when it all just seems to go wrong and there is nothing you can doTo halt it. Perhaps that is actually a good thing. In fact, if things never go wrong, how do you know what’s right? Maybe all we need to do is trade those helpless tears to tears of happiness. That would be quite odd — “I love getting scarlet fever” Whoops.
Here is one for you. This time, evil approaches and is meaner than ever before. I will clue you into what happend the next holiday. I had chicken pox, my younger sister had chicken pox, my other sister had scarlet fever, and my parents were down with the flu. Check this out — Thanksgiving! Normally at Thanksgiving we take turns giving thanks for all the things we are thankful for. I was thankful for those soothing oatmeal baths!
It’s really funny how we are tested in these ironic ways. The result from our struggles with nature predicts what kind of human being we can become, but what happens during the struggle shows what kind of person we truly are now.
