In the late autumn the creepy crawlers came scurrying into our home from their outside nests in search of shelter from the future winter winds and cold. If there is one thing I can't stand it is spiders. One night I was awoken by the howling storm and a scary dream to discover with horror, just above my head on the ceiling was a monstrous, hairy, eight legged creature which seemed to sense my fear and came crawling towards me in a slow but determined manner. I shouted, but it kept coming.

I woke my husband who had lost in the world of dreams and pushed him, half-awake through the hall yelling 'Get the vacuum cleaner, its time to go spider-busting'. It was only when we turned on the lights which we saw with complete despair that the arachnid aggressor was not alone - he had an army - all over the house they were dotted, crouching in corner, creeping down walls. Right, it was time for determined action.
